Dionne Daniel is taking on the Thames Bridges Trek in support of Epsom and St Helier Hospitals Charity
Dionne Daniel, Group Director of Nursing for Fundamentals of Care, is taking on an exciting new challenge to support Epsom and St Helier Hospitals Charity. This September, Dionne will be participating in the Thames Bridges Trek, journeying 25K across London.
Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Dionne completed her nurse training there before moving to the UK. With over 25 years’ experience in the NHS, she is now one of the newest members of gesh25. Recently, Dionne received recognition from Chief Executive Jacqueline Totterdell and Chairman, Gillian Norton for her long service contribution.
Throughout her career, Dionne has held various senior roles, achieving many milestones. Reflecting on her current position, she says, “Being Director of Nursing for Fundamentals of Care covers a lot of ground. Every day, I get to work with amazing colleagues to make sure patient safety is a priority, and meet staff in their own environment during walkabouts – there is so much to see, I could happily be there all day.”
Dionne is raising funds to enhance services within her speciality, which will directly benefit patients. For example, the money raised could help create dementia friendly spaces in our elderly care wards or support raising awareness for falls prevention.
“I love walking and aim to do five miles a day,” Dionne shares. “Doing the 10K trek would have been the easy option, but I never do the easy option. So here goes 25K!”
