Epsom & St Helier and St George’s Hospitals Charities unite to sponsor the upcoming gesh CARE Awards

Epsom and St Helier Hospitals Charity and St George’s Hospital Charity have joined forces in sponsoring the upcoming gesh CARE Awards, contributing £50,000 to what has been described by Group CEO Jacqueline Totterdell as “our version of the Oscars.”

“Our biggest ever event will celebrate the incredible teams and individuals who go above and beyond for our patients,” said Jacqueline. “I’m excited to read the nominations and to celebrate all those shortlisted.”

The gesh CARE Awards, set for 10 December at The Kia Oval, will celebrate outstanding care, highlight staff achievements, and recognise the unwavering dedication of all 17,000 employees across the group’s hospital and community services. Every member is eligible for nomination – from frontline clinicians to essential support staff, Including our cleaners, caterers and estates teams.

Molly Simpson, Head of Charity at Epsom and St Helier Hospitals Charity said, “We can’t wait to collaborate with St George’s Hospital Charity to support this incredible event that celebrates all of those across our Group.”

Most categories will be nominated by colleagues, but the Outstanding CARE Award will be open to public nominations, honouring staff and teams who have gone above and beyond to give outstanding care and treatment.

As the official charities of their respective trusts, St George’s Hospital Charity and Epsom and St Helier Hospitals Charity provide extra support to our hospitals, over and above what the NHS can deliver on its own – from improving hospital facilities to purchasing advanced medical equipment and supporting staff through wellbeing initiatives. This grant is just one of the ways both charities will be supporting our incredible staff this year.

Katy Vaughan, CEO of St George’s Hospital Charity, added: “We are proud to support the recognition of our incredible NHS staff and look forward to an unforgettable evening with all involved.”
