Fulham FC Players spread Christmas Cheer at Queen Mary’s Children’s Hospital

Fulham Football Club brought the festive spirit to Queen Mary’s Children’s Hospital at St Helier last week, as five players took time out of their busy schedules to brighten the day for young patients and their families.

Two players from the Women’s Team, Frankie Gibbs and Olivia Dale, and three players from the Men’s Team, Jorge Cuenca, Andreas Pereira and Carlos Vinicius, visited children across the ward, day surgery unit and outpatients department. The players chatted with patients, posed for photos, and signed autographs, with one young fan showing them his football skills.

In addition to spreading smiles, the players from Fulham FC gifted £1,967 worth of toys and club goodies, which the players personally handed out to the children. From plush toys to signed Fulham merchandise, the thoughtful gifts meant a lot to families staying in our hospitals.

The Fulham fans amongst our NHS staff were also delighted to be in on the action and it was a nice way to brighten their working day.

Molly Simpson, Head of Charity at Epsom and St Helier Hospitals Charity said: “We are incredibly grateful to Fulham Football Club for their generosity and for taking the time to visit. Their support has brought so much happiness to the children and their families at a time when it’s needed most.”
