Jo Moon, Superintendent Radiographer is taking on the local Surrey Half Marathon to raise funds for her department.

Jo began her career in Radiology as a Junior Radiographer back in 2000, and now, 24 years later, she is the General X-Ray Superintendent Radiographer at St Helier Hospital. Our Radiology Department provides diagnostic and research imaging services to assist clinicians and hospital teams in the diagnosing and treating patients. They serve numerous patients across various pathways and collaborate with multiple teams within the hospitals.

The funds Jo raises will help support over and above current provisions within the department. Jo hopes the money she raises will improve areas that support staff, enabling them to continue delivering excellent patient care.

Jo said “The Radiology Department has been my second home for many years. Being able to run and raise funds for the department will certainly encourage me to keep going, especially up the hill!”

Jo started running during the Covid Pandemic lockdown by completing ‘Couch to 5K’ and has continued to improve and extend her distance each year. The Surrey Half will be her first half marathon, and she is really excited about it. Jo has been doing lots of training alongside the newly formed Epsom and St Helier Running Club.
